The Met Department in its morning bulletin on Thursday said that the Cyclone Vayu has changed it course and has made a small deviation over night. The result of the deviation is that the Vayu will not hit Gujarat however, it's severity is still a matter of concern. The storm will affect the coastal regions of the state with strong winds and storms.

Vayu, being categorised under severe storms is likely to head in the north northwest before moving towards northwest. There would be no flight operations for the next 24 hours from wednesday midnight. also there are over 75 trains cancelled and 33 shortened. Over 300,000 people of Saurashtra and Kutch are being evacuated to safer places.
