Members of the Parliament from Congress held a meeting on Wednesday to urge Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi to take his resignation back. Rahul Gandhi had been admant to step down from his post of the party chief ever since his party faced major defeat in the rfecent Lok Sabha general election against BJP. A few weeks ago Rahul stated that he would be the part of the selection process to appoint the next party chief however his party is still refusing to accept his resignation.

During the meeting Rahul once again turned down the plea to take back his resignation. The party members said that the party may disintegrate after his resignation or may lose the elected members over which Rahul stated that he has become fanatic fighting against the ruling party and RSS. He also said that the members wishing to quit the party after his designation are free to go. An MP from South India also suggested former party chief Sonia Gandhi to take back the post over which she said that how can she take the post now.
