Karnataka had been facing political breakdown in the state government for quite some time now and had thus, been the centre of controversies amidst the nations too. The increasing number of resignations by the party MLAs have neared the ruling Government to lose its majority. Having withdrawed their support from the government, the resigned MLAs have started supporting BJP. The blames of which had been put up on the Ruling party BJP at the centre. Defying the accusations Defence Minister and the senior party leader of BJP Rajnath Singh claimed that the party has nothing to do with the issues creeping out in the southern state.

A group of 10 resigned MLAs have filed a petition in the SC claiming that the Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar has been delaying in accepting their resgnations. In the petition senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi requested CJI Ranjan Gogoi for the early hearing of the same which has been accepted by the court and Justice Gogoi would be hearing the case on Thursday, July 11.
